UCPN (M) senior leaders’ internal rift resurfaces


KATHMANDU, JUL 12 – At a time of circulating rumours of the UCPN (Maoist) falling prey once again to internal disputes, the party’s leaders corroborated the claim by exchanging heated accusations at a public programme.

During the ‘Political Training and National Labour Campaigners’ Honour’ organised by All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU) here, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Baburam Bhattarai indulged in recrimination.

On the occasion, UCPN (Maoist) Chair Dahal warned the party could face dissolution if the unforeseen transformation of the party towards a bourgeoisie character continued...

Madhes parties to launch joint stir

KATHMANDU, JUL 04 – In an indication of new unity, almost all the Madhes-based parties in the Constituent Assembly and outside agreed on Friday to launch a unified movement to press the ruling parties to incorporate their agendas in the new constitution.

In a meeting held at the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party office, which was attended by top leaders of almost all the Tarai parties except Upendra Yadav, chairman of the newly unified Federal Samajbadi Forum Nepal, the leaders agreed to launch their Janajagaran Campaign soon. Yadav, who was in Pokhara, is said to have assured his party’s participation in the joint struggle.

Putting aside their differences, the parties that earlier broke away from the Madhesi Morcha, agreed to form the alliance again in order to press their agendas.
