Lawmakers from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal (RPP-N) have disrupted Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting on Friday that was supposed to hold deliberations on the preliminary draft of the constitution.
The lawmakers accused the major four parties of retracting from the commitment made to RPP-N regarding certain issues that were excluded from the preliminary draft of the constitution tabled at the CA.
The provisions granting fundamental rights to convert religion and failure to fix the date for local body elections irked the RPP-N lawmakers, prompting them to chant slogans.
The disgruntled lawmakers have picketed the rostrum and disrupted the meeting.
During the meeting, RPP-N lawmaker Sushil Shrestha raised objections arguing that the date of the local body elections had been excluded and provisions granting right to change the religion was included in a conspiratorial manner.
